Google 2026: Gemini, Smarter Analytics and a New Era of Discovery

Publication date: November 2, 2026

Not long ago, digital strategy could begin with a list of search terms and a conversion target. In 2026, consumers also discover products by asking long questions in conversational interfaces. Google is reshaping advertising, measurement and campaign workflows around that shift.

From search results to conversations

This chapter updates our 2025 look at Google across MarTech and DataTech. Google Ads, Google Marketing Platform, Analytics, BigQuery and Vertex AI form a connected ecosystem, but they have different purposes and should not be treated as interchangeable products.

Google Marketing Live 2026 described advertising experiences designed for AI-assisted search, where complex questions can become commercial discovery moments. SEO does not disappear, nor is visibility in AI answers guaranteed. Accurate product data, useful content and sound measurement become more important.

Ask Advisor and the future of measurement

In October 2026 Google outlined an expansion of ads in AI Mode, including plans involving Mexico, Brazil and the United Kingdom. Planned availability should not be confused with general availability in every LATAM account. Local brands need to verify eligibility and formats before allocating budgets.

Ask Advisor, announced in May 2026, aims to help teams across Google Ads, Analytics, Merchant Center and Marketing Platform. Its beta and language availability must be checked. An agent can accelerate analysis or campaign preparation, but it cannot rescue unclear objectives or faulty attribution.

Cloud infrastructure is not a journey platform

Google has also discussed a more unified Analytics 360 and links to Meridian, its open-source marketing-mix modeling framework. Attribution, causality and MMM answer different questions; reliable findings still depend on data history, assumptions and experimental design.

BigQuery, Looker and Vertex AI offer a path from data integration to analytics and AI-enabled applications. They do not individually replace a CDP, consent management or a journey orchestration tool. Gemini and creative tools can accelerate asset production, while brand safety, rights and approvals remain essential.

Consider a Latin American retailer whose customers ask conversational questions about appliance sizes, energy consumption and budget. Search and Ads can drive discovery, Analytics can illuminate behavior, BigQuery can connect sales and inventory data, and Looker can make insights usable. Success must ultimately be measured against margin and incremental sales, not clicks alone.

For the Garnica Quadrant, Google needs separate evaluations of advertising, discovery, analytics, cloud data, agents and governance. Its most distinctive value lies in connecting the first customer question to a measurable business decision.
