Salesforce 2026: From Customer 360 to Agentic Marketing

Publication date: November 2, 2026
Salesforce marketing once meant CRM, Marketing Cloud and Journey Builder. In 2026, the company is proposing a different kind of continuity: shared context across marketing, sales, service and commerce, with AI agents supporting real work. But what can teams actually use today, and what remains on the roadmap?
Three product names that should not be confused
Agentforce is Salesforce’s broader agent platform. Agentforce Marketing is its marketing portfolio, while Marketing Cloud Next is a next-generation offering built natively on Salesforce Platform, Data 360 and Agentforce. Existing Marketing Cloud Engagement and Account Engagement products do not magically become Marketing Cloud Next. Licensing, coexistence and migration choices matter.
Data 360 connects customer data, identity, audiences and business signals. A unified profile can improve coordination, but only when consent, matching rules and event definitions are trustworthy. Otherwise even an intelligent agent may make the wrong decision very efficiently.
Customer context and the agentic operating model
Marketing Cloud Next brings audiences, content, orchestration and measurement closer to Salesforce Platform and Flow Builder. Agents may help prepare segments, draft content, review performance and recommend changes when configured and authorized. Winter ’27 release notes describe additional capabilities, some subject to pilot or availability limitations.
For example, an agent could help find the bottleneck between a qualified lead and sales follow-up. Yet allowing it to change sensitive audiences or send messages without approval is a governance decision, not merely a technical switch. Permissions, policy, logs and human oversight are central.
Braze: an announced deal, not a finished integration
On October 20, 2026, Salesforce announced an agreement to acquire Braze for approximately $5.66 billion in enterprise value. The deal is expected to close during Salesforce fiscal 2028, subject to approvals. Braze’s B2C real-time engagement capabilities may eventually complement Salesforce’s stack, but that future integration is not available as a completed product today.
Imagine a services company with leads arriving from digital campaigns. Shared data can help marketing refine audiences, sales act on relevant context and service suppress inappropriate messages. Measurement should track lead acceptance, contact, opportunities and outcomes, not simply email opens.
Before adopting agentic marketing, companies should evaluate their licenses, usage credits, data architecture, external integrations, permission model and the cost of operating old and new products together.
For the Garnica Quadrant, Salesforce’s strengths in CRM continuity and shared operational context deserve evidence-based testing across personalization, journeys, analytics and cloud interoperability. More automation is useful only when business accountability follows it.
